It is rumored that Santa Monica Studios, which has made a global impact with the God of War series, has been working on a new project for a while. This project, which will be independent from God of War, is expected to have an action-story-oriented narrative.
Santa Monica Studios is coming with a new series
New details about the game came from Albertina Chu, a senior executive at Santa Monica Studios. Chu’s LinkedIn profile shows that the studio is currently working on “several unannounced games”. These projects, which have more than 250 developers, aroused curiosity.
It is thought that the studio is divided into separate teams to work on these projects. We already know that Naughty Dog made a similar move and split into teams for Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us. Santa Monica may also release its new games faster this way.
The new series will be Santa Monica Studio’s first new project since God of War. In November, the studio hired former Gearbox story director Bonnie Jean Mah. So it looks like the new series will also feature deep storytelling.
Of course, it should be noted that the new project has not been officially announced. Even though it has been announced by an important name, it is still at the idea stage. However, we can expect a cinematic story and a character-driven action game.
